Brush up reading skills with your own individual book buddy.  Girl Scout troop members make learning fun as they help children read. Snacks and a book related craft round out the program.  Sign up for sessions starting August (TBA)

The Illinois School Library Media Association has created The Monarch Award: Illinois' K-3 Children's Choice Award.  Come in and listen and munch a bunch books and participate in fun Monarch book related activities/crafts.

A nurse, a Northbrook policeman, a Northbrook fireman, and a Northbrook librarian will discuss infant and child care; home safety and when to call the police; fire safety tips and how to get children safely out of the house in the event of a fire; and babysitting resources in the library.

CheckMates Chess Academy  (Grade K – Grade 6)

CheckMates provide a special curriculum that caters to the needs of all children.  Upon the completion of the 3 week course “mates” can experience the thrill of a tournament, complete with prizes.
