Northbrook Public Library's Volunteer Program provides opportunities for individuals to make a positive impact in their community while gaining meaningful work and social experiences. Help is needed with all kinds of jobs, some simple and some more complex. The library happily accepts volunteers in Grades 9-12 and adult volunteers. Please note: We are unable to provide court-ordered community service hours at this time.
Volunteer Program (Grade 9 - Adult)
All of our ongoing positions in the Volunteer Program (Grades 9-Adult) are currently filled, and we are not currently accepting any new volunteer applications. If you would like to be notified when volunteer positions are available, please submit this online form.
If you are interested in volunteering for the Friends of the Library Bookshop, please visit their page for more information.
Teen Advisory Board (Grades 6-12)
Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a great opportunity if you are in grades 6-12 and need more service hours for NHS, are interested in civic engagement and social responsibility, or really love the library and like helping out. We plan teen programs and complete service projects for the community while earning service hours. Our TAB program meets from September to May each year. Attendance at every meeting is NOT required, but we do hope you come to as many as you can!
