Online Services Will Be Limited From Sept. 28-Oct. 1 as Two New Libraries Join Our Library Network

From Saturday, September 28, through Tuesday, October 1, online services will be limited due to planned server maintenance to add the Mount Prospect and Waukegan Public Libraries to our library network. After the two new libraries are added, there will be 550,000 new materials available in the collection for you to enjoy.

During this time, you can still sign up for a library card and check out materials (including your holds) at the library. We will also extend due dates so that no materials will be due.

Online services that will be limited include:

  • Searching the catalog, accessing your account, or accessing your digital library card. Please call 847-272-6224 or visit the library for account questions or to confirm that an item is on the shelf.
  • Placing online holds. Please call 847-272-6224 or visit the library to request a hold.
  • Checking out eBooks/eAudiobooks (including Boundless and Hoopla) or streaming movies/TV (including Kanopy & Hoopla).
  • Accessing some library databases and eResources (including Boundless, Creativebug, EBSCO, Explore More IL, Hoopla, Kanopy, LinkedIn Learning, and NoveList).

Once the maintenance is complete on Tuesday, October 1, you'll have access to even more items as our library system grows even larger. In addition to the 29 current area libraries in our network (CCS), you can use your Northbrook Library card to check out materials at the Mount Prospect and Waukegan Libraries.
