In September, you’ll find more ways to fall in love with your library than ever before. The Northbrook Public Library is declaring September to be Love Your Library Month, where community members will have the chance to get to know the Library staff, discover new ways to use their Northbrook Library card—and potentially win big.
“We observe Library Card Sign-Up Month in September every year, but this year we wanted to go a couple steps further,” said Marketing Specialist Emily Glimco. “We wanted to reach not only the people who need to sign up for a library card or renew their expired one, but also the people who come to the library on a regular basis.”
In addition to having more opportunities to get to know the library’s services and staff, community members will have the chance to earn entries for a grand prize giveaway by interacting with the Library in various ways. Anyone who signs up for a Northbrook Library card, or renews their expired card, will receive a small gift, as well as an entry for the giveaway. Community members can also sign up for the Library’s email newsletter or post with the #ILoveNorthbrookPL hashtag on social media to earn entries. Finally, anyone who sees the Library represented at local venues and shows their library card will get an entry as well.
“The goal is to help people engage with the Library in more ways than simply checking out materials,” said Glimco. “We want people to be able to get to know our staff, and get to know the Library as a whole.”
