What We're Listening To (Music):

"Live in Paris" by Sleater-Kinney

"Sleater-Kinney made their triumphant return in 2015 with "No Cities to Love." The new live record features lit performances, mostly drawing on songs from the latter part of their discography. "Live in Paris" captures the essence of what the band's shows have been during the last couple years - not a reunion cash grab, but a veteran band on tour supporting a strong new album." -Phil, Reference Department

"Life Will See You Now" by Jens Lekman

"Life-affirming indie pop and disco songs about friendship, empathy, and knowing your mission from a Swedish singer/songwriter at the height of his craft." -Christophe, Reader Services Department

"The Essential Magic Sam: The Cobra and Chief Recordings" & "The Essential Otis Rush: The Classic Cobra Recordings 1956-58"

"Both Magic Sam and Otis Rush degine the the West Side Sound with their late 50's early 60's 45s.  The Delmark recordings book end their early careers." -Bill, MultiMedia Department

What We're Listening To (Audiobooks):

Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch

"If Tarantino had written a book that started out as a fantasy version of Ocean's 11 and then turned into Pirates of the Caribbean, it might look like this." -Ethan, Circulation Department

Linger by Maggie Stiefvater

"This is a YA book with werewolves done the way it should be!  Full of suspense, romance, and drama, Linger is everything you could want in a good audiobook." -Kate, Director

A Fighting Chance by Elizabeth Warren

"I recently finished the audiobook recordings of JD Vance's Hillbilly Elegy, and Arlie Russell Hochschild's Strangers in Their Own Land. Being exposed to the different perspectives that people from various socioeconomic groups and backgrounds fascinates me, gets me out of my own bubble, and helps me to make sense of the world." -Monique, Reference Department

The Baker's Secret by Stephen P. Kiernan

"Set in a quaint town in occupied France, this is a moving historical fiction novel that you'll want to finish in one sitting!" -Mike, Reader Services Department

What We're Watching (TV):

Legion

"The coolest Marvel production you'll ever see! The writing, production and acting are top notch, it'll blow your mind!" -Jim, MultiMedia Department

Attack on Titan

"I first watched the anime series Attack on Titan back when it aired in 2013, and have eagerly awaited the new season, which finally came out earlier this month. I can't wait to see various moments of the manga being adapted into animation." -Becca, Circulation Department

Supergirl

"Fun, exciting, and full of fantastic female characters." -Tracy, Reader Services Department

The Leftovers

"It's extremely creative. We live in a golden age of television." -Aaron, MultiMedia Department

What We're Watching (Movies):

Get Out movie posterGet Out

"Get Out was terrifying in the same vein as Rosemary's Baby and The Wicker Man." -Ethan, Circulation Department

Beauty and the Beast

"Beauty and the Beast is my favorite animated Disney movie, and the live-action version doesn't disappoint, adding more depth to certain characters and filling some plot holes from the original." -Becca, Circulation Department
