Northbrook Public Library Youth Solo Competition Recitals

We congratulate each of the young musicians who submitted performances for our first Youth Solo Competition. Our competition was open to all musicians (both voice and instrument) ages 11-18. The winners were invited to perform a recital in our Auditorium, and our Grand Prize winner was invited to perform in our Auditorium and also perform a second recital at the Wilmette Public Library. 

We invite you to enjoy performances by each of the talented performers who were selected as our Northbrook Public Library Youth Solo Competition winners.

Grand Prize Winner: Simon Cegys

Born in 2011, Simon Cegys started playing piano at age six studying with Beilin Han and later with his current teacher Weiwen Ma. His accomplishments include an Honorary Mention in the 2022 SAM competition, Honorary Mention in the 2022-23 Merit Solo Competition, finalist in the 2024 Chicago International Music Competition (CIMC), winner of the 2024 Northbrook Public Library Youth Solo Competition,  and winner of the 2024 Illinois Music Association (IMA) piano duet competition.
