At the September 26 Village Board meeting, the Northbrook Village Board of Trustees voted unanimously to take a stand against censorship by passing a resolution designating the Village of Northbrook as a Book Sanctuary Community. Yesterday, around 5:00pm, like many other libraries around the area, Northbrook Public Library received a bomb threat via email. After performing a search, the Northbrook Police Department determined that there was no threat to staff or patrons. We are thankful for their swift response and to our library staff for their efficient handling of this situation.
While this has been a challenging situation, we are thankful for the support of this community and we look forward to seeing you at the library.

Northbrook Public Library invites the community to read Clark and Division by Naomi Hirahara and then join them in October for a series of programs that explore the book’s themes. The highlight of the series will be a visit from the book's author, Naomi Hirahara on Wednesday, October 18 at 7pm. The best-selling author of Clark and Division will join us in the Auditorium to discuss her book and answer questions from the audience.
